Some builds begin with a landmark. This one began with the people who would make it their own.

Created in the ThunderLab by WaddlingThunder, this custom Yankee Stadium brings the spirit of the ballpark into a deeply personal keepsake. The stadium itself contains 3,595 bricks, with tiered blue seating, a carefully tiled baseball diamond, bright yellow foul poles, and a Gate 4 entrance that welcomes visitors into a miniature world of baseball and family connections.

Look closer, and the story unfolds. Custom figures of Charles and Mia stand outside the stadium. Charles wears Yankees pinstripes with Mia’s number 23, while Mia sports her Flagler College softball uniform. Beyond the outfield, personalized billboards welcome Mia and celebrate her favorites, including Bar Tulia, 7 Brew, and Club Soda. The scoreboard captures a particularly satisfying result: Yankees 7, Red Sox 2.

Beside the stadium stands a custom 329-brick clocktower, designed to hold a New York Yankees watch. Tucked into the tower are tributes to Cooper and Beau, because the companions who matter deserve a place in the story, too. A 63-brick hot dog cart and a playful popcorn character bring a little game-day fun to the scene.

The project involved approximately six weeks of design, twelve weeks of sourcing the right bricks and colors, and two weeks of assembly. Each stage helped turn a familiar stadium into something unmistakably personal.

That is what makes a one-of-a-kind build special to us. We get to listen, notice the details that matter, and find ways to give them a place in the finished piece. This Yankee Stadium celebrates a favorite team, a family’s connections, and the joy of having something made especially for you.

From the ThunderLab workbench to its new home, built one piece at a time.

These playful character scenes use familiar space fantasy figures to share a message of kindness and connection. Custom minifigures, affectionate poses, and the Spread Love display make these builds warm and expressive gifts.

These one of a kind brick vehicles pair distinctive styling with personal details, from a South Carolina plate to a Cubs celebration. Each model is built as a compact display piece, with custom figures and presentation elements adding character to the design.

Custom brick mosaics transform meaningful people, pets, and places into display worthy portraits. These commissions include a framed scene at Oracle Park and mosaic portraits of a beloved dog, each designed as a personal keepsake.

Miniature performers, instruments, lighting, and audiences turn these brick builds into lively concert moments. The designs range from energetic stage performances to tributes inspired by KISS and the Zinfinity brand.

A custom ThunderLab creation for Belleair Country Club—where history, hospitality and a little brick-built imagination came together on one very special track.
Some builds begin with a box of bricks.
This one began with a year:
1897.
That number is proudly displayed on the front of a deep-blue steam locomotive, but it represents much more than a date. It became the starting point for a custom creation inspired by the history and character of Belleair Country Club—a place with more than a century of stories behind it.
The original concept was captured perfectly in three words:
Track to Success
The project materials included a vintage-inspired locomotive emblem carrying that message, along with the club’s distinctive crest. Those two images established the direction for the entire build: historic, elegant and unmistakably personal
But putting a logo on a train would have been the easy part.
At ThunderLab, the goal is never simply to decorate an existing model. The goal is to take an idea apart, understand what makes it meaningful and rebuild it into something that tells its own story.

Starting with a Classic
The foundation was a grand passenger train rendered in rich navy blue, gold and black. It already carried the romance of another era: a powerful steam engine, elegant sleeping cars and destinations stretching from Paris and Munich to Vienna, Budapest and Istanbul.
Then the transformation began.
The original passenger train became the Belleair Express.
Club emblems were carefully incorporated into the locomotive and tender. The number 1897 was placed prominently on the engine. New lettering was added along the passenger cars, connecting the identity of the club to the golden age of rail travel.
Even the early construction photographs reveal how much engineering lives beneath the polished exterior. Long internal frames, reinforced connections and carefully layered curves were needed to keep the cars structurally sound while preserving their graceful appearance.
That is one of my favorite things about custom building: the finished creation may look effortless, but underneath it are dozens of decisions, revisions and moments when a builder quietly wonders whether the entire thing is about to become a very expensive pile of loose bricks.
Fortunately, this train stayed on the tracks.
Mostly.

Lighting the Journey
The train was designed to be experienced, not merely observed.
Warm lighting was added throughout the passenger cars, illuminating the rooms, hallways and dining spaces behind their windows. The locomotive received working-style headlamps, while the exterior platform and display details were also brought to life with carefully positioned lighting.
When the lights came on, the build changed completely.
The train no longer looked like a static model sitting on a shelf. It appeared ready to depart—its passengers settling into their compartments, porters moving luggage and the locomotive preparing for the journey ahead.
The finished passenger cars glow warmly from within, with the Belleair Express identity running along their sides

Every Passenger Has a Story
The figures surrounding the train were not added simply to fill space.
They create a moment.
A traveler checks a camera. A porter manages a cart stacked with luggage and parcels. Uniformed staff prepare for departure. Elegantly dressed passengers wait alongside the platform. A photographer positions his equipment, perhaps trying to capture the very same scene we are now looking at.
Inside the cars are additional rooms, furnishings and tiny scenes visible through the illuminated windows.
These details matter because people rarely remember an object by itself.
They remember what was happening around it.
They remember who was there.
They remember how the moment felt.
The platform scene turns the train from a model into a story already in progress.

The Final Destination
The completed display stretches across a custom black presentation base bearing the words:
BCC TRACK TO SUCCESS
At the front sits the 1897 locomotive, its lights shining and its deep-blue boiler accented with gold. Behind it, the Belleair Express passenger cars glow from within, while the platform scenes continue alongside the train.
The finished creation was photographed in its destination setting, displayed prominently beneath glass.
And that is where the build finally became more than the sum of its bricks.
It became a tribute to history.
A celebration of progress.
And a reminder that success is rarely one dramatic arrival. It is a journey built one section, one connection and one carefully placed piece at a time.

More Than a Train
I love large, complicated builds. I love lights, hidden details and the occasional engineering problem that causes me to question my life choices.
But those are not the real reasons I build.
I build because an object can carry a memory.
A year can represent a legacy.
A familiar emblem can remind someone that they belong to something larger than themselves.
And sometimes, a train is not really about the train at all.
It is about where the journey began, the people who traveled along the way and the stories still waiting at the next station.
That is what the 1897 Belleair Express became.
Not simply a custom train.
A story—built to keep moving.

What story would you build?
ThunderLab creates one-of-a-kind brick displays inspired by the people, places and memories that matter most. From historic landmarks and treasured vehicles to family stories and completely original ideas, every build begins with the same question:
What makes your story yours?
Let’s build it together.
